The well-timed rain in March means that our strawberry crop was exceptionally good this year. Come to the market for a tasty selection of fresh strawberries.
A new selection of honeys has just arrived from our local bee keeper Shadowland Seeds. We have goldenrod honey and clover honey which are simply delicious! We also have Tanglewood honey, which is a mixture of four of Michigan's honeys and one North Carolina honey it is in high demand at the indoor markets in Muskegon, MI and at our small farm.
Fall finds us winding down and looking forward to letting the ground rest. Our collards and Kale have withstood several frosts to date and taste sweeter. We are about to harvest the last of the sweet potatoes before the inside of our high tunnel gets too cold. We also have mulching to put on our fall carrot crop to carry them through till spring. (October 2013)
The Big Rapids farm market ended for this year on October 18, 2013. We still have some produce available and our pasture raised beef is always available.
